Riva Ranch Vineyard Chardonnay opens up with layers of tropical fruit and toast, similar to grilled pineapple and graham cracker. This wine has a creamy mouthfeel with a balanced acidity and will continue to evolve as it rests in the bottle.

Wine Steward Notes

Our Riva Ranch Vineyard Chardonnay is sourced exclusively from our Riva Ranch Vineyard in Arroyo Seco, Monterey. Arroyo Seco, where we have been growing grapes since the 1960’s, is widely regarded as one of the best places in California to grow Chardonnay. The long, cool growing season with the deep gravelly soil ripen the Chardonnay perfectly which gives natural balance of sugar and acidity.

1 x Black Stallion Chardonnay

Winery Black Stallion Estate Winery

Country USA

Region Napa Valley

Tasting Notes

Black Stallion Estate Winery Chardonnay opens with aromas of yellow pear, lemon curd, jasmine and hint of oak. The flavors are tantalizing notes of citrus, chamomile, orange blossom and brown butter. The Chardonnay from the cooler vineyards provides the bright acidity, citrus notes, and lean backbone of the wine, where the Chardonnay from the warmer growing regions of the Napa Valley contributes a riper, fuller-bodied character. The wine has a rich mid-palate weight creating a multi-layered, complex wine and a lingering finish.

Food Pairing

Sip this wine on its own as an aperitif or pair alongside with goat cheese, salad and dishes such as crab, lobster, grilled shrimp or roast chicken.

Product Description

The fruit used to craft this full-flavored Napa Valley Chardonnay was sourced from both warmer, upper valley vineyards, and lower, cooler vineyard blocks, resulting in a balanced blend of ripe, rich flavors and aromas, vibrant acidity and soft structure. The fruit was picked on taste in conjunction with careful grape analysis. We tend to pick on the early side to promote the citrus/tropical flavors and to retain the natural acids. Picked in the cool mornings, the fruit was brought to the winery where it was gently pressed into barrels and tanks. Barrel portion was fermented in barrels and left on primary lees for six months, with the barrels being stirred two times per month, to increase texture to the wine. Once we felt we had the delicate balance of fruit with subtle nuances of oak, the wine was blended.

Wine Steward Notes

Located on the historic Silverado Trail in Napa Valley’s Oak Knoll District, Black Stallion Estate Winery pays homage to the rich history of the 32-acre estate which was once home to the Silverado Equestrian Center. The property was purchased in 2010 by the Indelicato family, a fourth-generation family-owned company founded in 1924. Sourcing from the most prestigious vineyards, the winery is committed to making only the most expressive wines.

1 x Chateau Ste Michelle Indian Wells Chardonnay

Winery Chateau Ste. Michelle

Country USA

Region Columbia Valley, Washington

Tasting Notes

Chateau Ste. Michelle’s Indian Wells Chardonnay delivers an appealing tropical fruit character typical of warm sites like the Wahluke Slope. You’ll like this Chardonnay’s ripe pineapple and butterscotch flavors and rich, creamy texture. Try it with scallops, scampi or pasta with rich sauces.

Food Pairing

Salmon, fresh crab, pork, poultry, lemon zest, tarragon, thyme

Product Description

Most of the fruit comes from warmer Chardonnay vineyards on the Wahluke slope and from our Cold Creek Vineyard. The Wahluke Slope is a south facing ridge that is bordered on both the west and the south by the Columbia River. The region’s warm days cause the grapes to assert sweet citrus and tropical characteristics, while the cool nights promote good structure, balance and flavor intensity. Ripe grapes were lightly pressed and inoculated with yeast designed for accentuated, fruit-forward flavors. 100% sur lie aged for six months to integrate the fruit and oak flavors and provide a rich mouthfeel. Barrel aged in 35% new American and French oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation also took place to add softness, balance and depth.

Wine Steward Notes
Built on the 1912 estate owned by Seattle lumber baron Frederick Stimson, the winery’s roots date back to the Repeal of Prohibition. In 1967 under legendary winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff, a new line of premium vinifera wines was introduced called Ste. Michelle Vintners. Celebrating more than 50 years of winemaking. Since then, we have combined Old World winemaking traditions with New World innovation. In fact, Chateau Ste. Michelle is one of the few premium wineries in the world with two state-of-the-art wineries, one for red and one for white. The whites are made at the Chateau in Woodinville, WA, while the reds are made at our Canoe Ridge Estate winery in Eastern Washington.
